My wife and I own one LTR and one STR and are planning to continue to grow! We have been interested in investing in real estate for a while and my goal is to set us up financially over the next several years so that my wife can retire early from her teaching career. She is an awesome teacher and gives 110% of herself to her kids. I hope to give her an early reward - retirement! Experience: I made the mistake of purchasing a home before the 2008 crash with practically no money down, a high interest rate, and an impossibly high monthly payment. We were naive and ill educated. After doing a shortsale, I vowed to purchase our next home more intelligently. We saved up for a down payment and purchased an awesome home that needed a lot of work. I ended up building up 100K of equity in the home which I then used to invest in rental properties. Real Estate Goals: Our plan is to grow our rental investment portfolio for the next 10 years, at which time I can give my wife an early retirement. Currently Seeking: Looking for private money and great deals.
