My wife and I got into real estate investing as a strategy to be able to quit our corporate day jobs, but somehow make our retirement savings last and have a lifestyle we enjoy. We figured it would take 40 doors earning a net of $250 a month to make it happen. To our delight it took far fewer to replace our income, and we are enjoying the landlord routine. We do what maintenance we enjoy... pressure washing is somehow therapeutic, and we’ve gotten quite good at painting houses! Lol!! We leave toilets and AC’s to the professionals on our speed dial. We now have enough rentals under our belt that we have become more selective on what we want to buy, and want to start to cull some of our poorer performing properties, while continuing to buy the better deals we run across from time to time.
