Jonathan Perez

My name is Jonathan Perez, realtor and investor here in Jacksonville FL. Originally, from New England (Springfield, Massachusetts). In 2012, 2 years after graduating high school, I relocated to Columbia SC to explore new opportunities and gain new perspectives. Like many others, after reading the book "rich dad, poor dad", I was excited and totally convinced to invest in real estate. From there, I left college to focus strictly on using my 9-5 job at the post office as a stepping stone, working lots of overtime and using the extra money to pay off debts, improve my credit score and build up capital so that I can begin my investing journey. While on this mission, I relentlessly educated myself on real estate investing through podcasts, audiobooks, attending local meet up groups / networking, even analyzing deals on my own as practice etc. Just before I turned 25, in 2017 I purchased my first duplex (house hack). It was one of the most important / life changing decisions I have ever made (as I knew it would be) as it provided me with the experience and credibility needed in order to grow as a real estate investor. I learned how to manage tenants, property managers, contractors, renovations etc. At the same time, I was also learning how to truly live on my own for the first time, without any family members or roommates in the household. Just me and my tenants. This really forced me to grow personally in every way possible. Thanks to BP, I was able to maneuver through each and every circumstance I found myself in with the wisdom and advices of others more experienced than me. In December 2021, I moved to Jacksonville FL where I obtained my real estate license. I ended up selling my duplex, cashing out on the profits and resigning from the post office to focus on building my agent business turning it into my main source of active income as I continue to learn and grow in my investing journey all while helping other investors achieve their investing goals.
