I'm a husband, a father of two, and a Marine reservist. I first became interested in real estate when a friend mentioned his idea to buy a house and then rent it out to have them pay for the mortgage while I was stationed in North Carolina. Unbeknownst to us he was describing the buy and hold strategy. Needless to say this was this was late 2002 and there were other things going on that required our attention as Marines. About a decade later the demand from the country subsided and I started to pick up self improvement books and really started enjoying them.
