My husband and I have been investing in multi-family since 2004. We gradually built our portfolio in Oregon and Washington so that by 2014 we no longer worked for anyone but ourselves. We continue to build our business at a rate of 1 deal every 1-2 years usually with 1031 exchanges to increase our scale. We have enough cash flow to live our modest lifestyle. Our investing journey has been anything but "get rich quick." It's been a slow, mostly steady, climb with a lot of setbacks and lessons learned the hard way. By August 2018 we will have 38 doors.
