Hi! I love revitalizing things and helping people, so this is a great way to get to a level where I can do those in an impactful way. I'm an automation engineer in my day job. While I love my profession and am happy with its income, I want more than that for various reasons, including my top two. Number one, I want a sustainable future for my family and more control over building that than a 401k offers. Secondly, I love to travel. Since I work a 40+ hour job, I don't get enough time to travel as much as I'd like. Retirement is also a focus of mine. Like many of us, I was raised in a give-your-time-to-get-paid sort of way so that's all I really knew. Now I need to get paid even when I'm not giving my time. I'm converting my livelihood to that mentality starting now.
