My wife, Ande, and I are part-time Real Estate Entrepreneurs overseeing our 50+ residential investment properties and rental business. We want to share our Real Estate "dream life" with others in Bigger Pockets who, like us, aspire to gain a better life and retirement, thru Real Estate Investing. Since 2018, we have been increasingly reducing our personal time and involvement in our rental business and properties. We are over 60 now, and ready to "play" more and "retire" in a sense more recognizable to most. We don’t have to do this, we GET to do this! My approach and strategy: "We buy rundown properties nobody else wants." This gives us our edge. Anyone can do the same and virtually eliminate competition for properties, in the right markets. We believe Real Estate Investing should be a lot more accessible to the middle-class with full-time day jobs. We made $ millions, part-time, using the simplest of real estate investing approaches, which anyone can do. We "retired" from our residential remodeling company, Cook Bros., almost 20 years ago, and built a working hobby ranch near Yellowstone National Park and Cody, Wyoming and we reside there today. Rob Graduated from Rice University in 1983 and earned his J.D. at George Mason School of Law in 2000. Ande has a B.A. from Sam Houston State. Rob got his Real Estate Sales License in 1978 and became a Licensed Real Estate Broker in 1992 when we started our own firm, essentially to handle our own investment portfolio transactions. Ande was a licensed agent and property manager. We have participated in the industry in many capacities, including construction superintendent for a major regional home builder in Houston, TX, pioneered Buyer-Agency in the early 90's, owned and operated a "Big 50" residential remodeling firm for over 33 years (still own it) and investing in almost every strategy and type of market and economy since 1978. Since 2016 we have acquired 22 units (11 properties)...so we are active. Our passion is real estate investing and real estate business.
