I guess wether you call me new or not depends on your definition. I bought my first property a few years ago, but I was learning about it for a few years before I actually jumped in. I went to school to be a teacher, and after having an eye infection which did some damage to my eyes, I decided teaching was no longer what I desired to do… at least not full time in a public school classroom. I am legally blind, and am trying to build a business for myself that will not only get me off relevance on disability payments, but also get me so financially secure that I'm able to travel and spend time doing volunteer work like habitat for humanity. In college, I organized a group trip to New Orleans and did some hurricane Katrina cleanup, and I miss doing things like that. I believe that I can provide good homes for people at a fair price. Hence, the name of my company FairShake Properties. I want to help my community in as many ways as I can. Even though the company is still small, it has already started doing some good things. So far FairShake Properties owns 3 houses, but if I find deals that meet my criteria and funding to make them happen, I'm hoping that number will grow rapidly soon.
