Bought my first property in 2017, single family home with detached mother in law suite. Bought it strictly for that reason. Turns out I was “house hacking” and didn’t even know it. The suite rent pays for almost half the mortgage. My fiancé and I recently acquired our second property which is strictly a rental which cash flows almost 300/month. There’s a lot I don’t know and I’m willing to work hard and learn. Engineering background, so I enjoy numbers and analyzing deals. Main goal is to get out of debt (consumer) and become financially free and be able to help others.
