Ryan Brouwer

I have worked in healthcare for the past decade as a radiologic technologist (I currently work in a cath lab full time). I have been curious about the real estate industry for a number of years and a few months ago, I finally pulled the trigger and got my real estate license. My plan is to use my license to help friends and family save some money when they need to buy/sell properties (I will not be pursuing being an agent full-time as of this moment, but perhaps if I ever decide to get out of the healthcare field, I will have this Plan B in place). My primary focus with real estate is to invest in rental properties so that my wife and I can set ourselves up for some financial freedom in the future. The knowledge I gained through the coursework that was required for my license, as well as the things I am learning from books, YouTube, and Biggerpockets, is helping me really figure out how to be successful in this industry. I feel like having my license has also helped me ask the right questions when dealing with agents, lenders, etc. We are currently working our way into the Cleveland market for our first rentals and the plan is to have 10 units within the next 5 years. I am looking forward to connecting with other investors here on Biggerpockets so that I can learn as much as possible from others and maybe even be able to pass along some knowledge to others on here based on what I have learned from my experiences.
