Thank you, Adversity, for teaching me the meaning of life. You have come to me in the form of cancer and lupus to people I love. And you have taught me to live as if today were my last day on earth. When you see the world as such, it matters not how much money you make. Nor your conquests. Nor your achievements. You really don't need a fancy job title or a fancy house. You really don't need a bunch of investment properties. What matters? Singing Mary J Blidge's Doubt out loud. Dancing to Flo Rida and Cool Girl by Tove Lo, moving your rib cage out and in and side to side. Appreciating a piece of art. Loving as if tomorrow were no more. Kissing your child on the forehead. Embracing loved ones. Traveling. Chatting with strangers. Opening up your heart and being vulnerable (and not being driven by your stupid ego)... letting in the magic of life. Emotions and feeling happy are what matter. Thank you, Adversity, for taking so much away from me. You've kicked me in the teeth... now I live a life that I would refer to as heaven.
