I have loved real estate since I was 8 years old driving through Iowa looking at corn fields wondering how one person could own so much land. I knew from an early age that money was an important part of society as I saw my parents sacrife so much time and energy to give my three sibling and I an incredible life. My parents didn't have their finances in order until I was a teeanger and that fear of debt and finacial suffering engraved in me a deep desire to learn about fiances and not suffer the way they did. I found Rich Dad Poor Dad when I was 12 years old and instantly was hooked, started reading all of the Rich Dad books along with his adviors books. This began a desire to get into real estate from an early age. At 15 I found Bigger Pockets podcast and again the hooks of financial independence and real estate hooked even deeper in me. Faith has always been apart of my life so when I turned 18 I went to ministry school as I followed my faith and knew that the lessons learned would extremely applicable to life. After school I got into proeprty managment for five years. After some time I met a private equity guy who invited me into the rough and tumble world of oil and gas direct investments. I took the roller coaster of O&G private equity, learned a tremendous amount but at the end of the day I wasn't an oil and gas man. I was a real estate guy. My personal risk tolerance and belief in the produt made it hard to have conviction in the asset class. So I left and joined a new real estate development opportunity where we are a small branch of an arcitectual firm who specializes in building the church. We have been helping churches design and remodel/build new campuses for a decade plus. We are fortunate to do fantastic work which has gained us the trust and relationships with churches. Now they have found churches with a desire to develope some of their excess land and I have been brought on to help my company build relationships with developers and equity/debt partners. I love real estate and helping people. I couldn't ask for a better place to be in my life. In my personal time, you can find me reading books, listen to podcasts, play pool, running or playing poker on my iPad (not for money). I am living an incredible life and I hope to help members of BP to get access to development deals otherwise unaccesible.
