Sari Sheehan

I grew up in Australia and spent much of my life traveling and hence renting around the world to suit my lifestyle. My background is working as a photographer and my husband and I built a photography business. My husband and I were both educated in theatre and film production. I have worked in front of and behind the camera for 18 years and enjoyed this phase of my life. There is a lot of instability and risk in the creative industry, and I have gained a higher-than-average risk tolerance for change. I have always had an interest in following real estate, reading, and observing others in real estate. During this time of change in my industry, I have become more keen to learn ways to work towards financial freedom that isn't reliant on the film or photography industry. I have enjoyed being on Bigger Pockets and I am learning from others here. I am ready to apply the investor mindset to buy my first property and I ultimately want to house hack our first house by living in it and adding value to it. I want to buy a property that will be a long-held property, in a stable, high-demand rental area, and ultimately gain appreciation and cash flow over the long term. I want to use the equity to get into the next property and start to build a portfolio as quickly as I can to make up for lost time. I am keen to connect and chat with others who may have started with a similar vision and have insights to share, and how quickly you can expand if you make the right first investment. I have been looking at the potential of the Philadelphia with a mix of equity growth and stable rental income.
