I went into real estate investing with two goals. The first was to make money from my investments. The second was to keep the earnings that I made. As a licensed Oklahoma attorney, I have elected to use LLCs for my investment properties. Real estate is a passion for a couple of reasons. Clearly, the opportunity to make a profit, but there's also the challenges that arise. You can never predict what will happen! Some projects go really smoothly without any issues at all. But, others are filled with all kinds of unsuspected surprises for you to figure out and work through. Some folks in the REI community make it sound so easy!!! True enough - it's simple! Just buy low and sell high, the very thing a stock broker tells you about investing in stocks and bonds. We've seen all kinds of scenarios play out from water line breaks in the ceiling with $1M in damages the morning after the closing to cars that ran through the living room of a single-family rental. At the end of the day, I love being an entrepreneur, REI, and an Oklahoma attorney. I'm thankful to live in our great country with all the freedoms and opportunities given to us!
