My wife and I live in Middletown, DE. We kind of accidentally got involved with real estate. About 12 years ago we bought a townhouse for ourselves and ended up house hacking for a long time, although accidentally. A couple friends of ours needed a place to stay and they ended up living with us for several years. We used this money to pay for our wedding and honeymoon. Since then we purchased a single family home in the same town and now live there. Our townhouse is rented but does not cash flow (renting to family.... not easy!), but the mortgage is getting paid. In September 2018 we purchased a 2/2 condo in Lewes, DE. We currently rent it out seasonally and use it for ourselves in the winter months. So far, so good with seasonal rentals. It booked from May 1 through the end of August in it's first year on the rental market. With all that being said, we now have three properties and have found it pretty exciting. So, we want to jump into REI, primarily with Buy & Hold. I still have a ton to learn so I have been reading the Bigger Pockets books, listening to the podcasts, and keeping an eye on what properties are out there. I look forward to meeting people and continuing to learn.
