Stephen Keighery

Hi, I’m Stephen Keighery, a real estate investor and operator based in New Orleans. I’m the founder of Home Buyer Louisiana and Home Buyer Mississippi, residential real estate investment companies focused on direct-to-seller acquisitions across Louisiana and Mississippi. Through our companies, we purchase and renovate distressed residential properties, working directly with homeowners to provide straightforward, as-is cash sale options. Our team has completed more than 235 transactions across Greater New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, the Northshore, and the Mississippi Gulf Coast. I was featured on the BiggerPockets Real Estate Rookie Podcast (Episode 651), where I shared my journey from Australia to building a multi-market residential investment platform in the Southern United States. Since relocating from Australia, I’ve built and scaled an operation spanning wholesaling, rentals, and value-add residential projects. We frequently work with sellers navigating complex situations such as inherited properties, storm damage, foundation issues, tired landlord transitions, and pre-foreclosure timelines. In 2026, we expanded into Mississippi through the launch of Home Buyer Mississippi, applying the same disciplined underwriting and direct-to-seller acquisition model that we developed in Louisiana. I’m actively involved in the local investor community as a Director of the New Orleans Real Estate Investors Association and the co-organizer of the Westbank Real Estate Investors Meetup. I enjoy connecting with operators, agents, and investors who value long-term relationships, operational discipline, and doing good deals with good people.
