Chris Winterhalter

In 2008 Chris embarked on a journey to exploit the real estate crash by investing in distressed properties. Within a year of starting his business he met Guy Gripp. Guy was a hotel renovation contractor in California looking to invest in properties while maintaining his business. Together they formed two entities and embarked on a journey of real estate investment and construction. Today their partnership has endured, while navigating many challenges of the real estate crash of 2008. Chris Winterhalter is the CEO of Hotel Rehabs, LLC a hotel construction and renovation company. Over the past 6 years he has been responsible for the successful renovation of 15 major branded hotel projects totaling over 2,000 guestrooms from New York, NY to Orange County, CA. Chris is actively involved in the day to day operations of the business; however, he is also focused on business development and long-term growth. Chris’ success stems from his experience in both construction and real estate ownership. Chris co-founded Sustainable Ventures, LLC in 2009 to take advantage of the real estate crash by investing in distressed housing. Today they own almost 120 apartment units in St. Louis, MO. Chris’ ability to understand construction from an ownership perspective allows him to make project decisions that positively affect the bottom line for the hotel owner/operator. It also allows him to put forth a renovation plan that maximizes value and return on investment. Chris is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati majoring in Operations Management with focuses on both Entrepreneurship and Spanish. He is based in Chicago, IL, allowing him to travel easily to projects nationwide. He is an avid traveler of Latin America and fluent in Spanish.
