My career journey as a realtor started when I sought housing for myself and my four-year-old son. I went to a non-profit housing organization to inquire about squatter rights. While there, the counselor suggested I sign up for the homebuyer class, which I knew nothing about. Through that process, I bought my first home. I loved everything about real estate and I was hooked. The real estate field allowed me to utilize the skills and training I acquired from my degree in accounting and my critical thinking skills. I was a hairstylist at the time. I decided I had to become a realtor. I financed my schooling for real estate with income from doing hair. As a single mother I simultaneously built my hair salon business and my real estate career at the same time.
