I focus on value-add buy and hold single family rental houses. I played professional poker in Las Vegas for 11 years before I moved back to Indiana in September of 2016 to get closer to family and to begin investing in real estate. In that time I have BRRRR'd 3 of my own rental properties, I have completed 6 BRRRRs with partners, I currently have 4 BRRRR projects going with partners, I am on my 2nd 6-month cycle of direct mail marketing to find better deals and/or to wholesale, and I have gotten my real estate license to help with research and to save money on transactions. 2019 will likely be the first year I file my taxes as a real estate professional instead of as a professional gambler, which I have done since 2006. I'm excited about the direction my real estate career is taking and I love the opportunity that real estate provides to develop win/win relationships.
