I recently paid taxes in the amount of $3.340.37 on a property that has been abandoned for approx. 3 years. Owner is deceased & has no living relatives. I checked with probate, superior courts & records, regarding a Will & or deed transfer, or if an "Adverse Possession" claim had been filed & the clerk verified that neither had taken place. The police came 30 days after I had been there with someone who claimed to be owner of the house. Police told me I had to leave immediately or I'd be arrested for trespassing. I asked to see any paperwork this man had but was denied. The poluce said they had seen the Will & it was legal & binding. I also wasn't allowed to retrieve any personal property of mine or my sons. I'm now unsure what to do or what my rights are since that "alledged owner" is now in my house with permission from police. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Tina- California
