Viet Nguyen

Hi, our name is Viet and Nam. That is right, our parents named us after our home country to remind us of where we came from. We were born in the US, while my parents flee Vietnam after the communist took over. My parents didn't tell us about their journey to America, but we knew it must have been hard because we read history books in school. However, as our dad passed away while we were in college, our family finances went into chaos. This was the start of our journey into financial freedom. Our main motivator on our journey, is that our parents left their home country, came to American with nothing, and build something for our family. They gave us education, and tools to make us successful so that we have the opportunity they never had. So yea, when my brother and I hit hiccups on our journey, we just tell ourself "mom and dad had less and made it work". Our journey started with flipping houses in the SF Bay Area with partners, we were mostly doing project management, cold calling, networking, etc. While our partners had the investors and money. We did that from 2012-2015 for a total of 3 deals, we didn't document anything and we blew our money on stupid things (clubs, bars, cars, etc). I wouldn't consider the flipping gig a business because we were just went with the flow, and half the time we didn't know what we were doing. Fast forward to 2021, we are more mature and back in the game of real estate. Our strategy, buy and hold, and then 1031 to an apartment complex.
