I currently moved from CA to live in Colorado Springs, CO. I just bought my first home, in Old Colorado City, and I love it here. The home is my primary residence. I left CA because I came to the conclusion that I'll never get ahead financially in that state. I was throwing money down the toilet by renting. Cost of living in CA was getting out of hand; taxes, gas, food, everything! And I was never going to be able to afford a home there. Experience: I have no Real Estate Experience. What I do have is a drive to make real estate investing work. I see the opportunities and potentials real estate has and can create. I believe my current and past work experiences will work well in this business. I work with large teams of people in getting a job done. Currently, in commercials, I work with different teams to keep the production moving forward, by communicating and solving logistics that arise from actors, makeup and wardrobe, electricians and grips, down to art. We all work together to solve problems. In the past, I worked at a law firm for 5 years, as a paralegal. I helped prepare, organize, and research cases for lawyers. I kept all files up to date, helped with court filings, prepare pleadings etc... What this all comes down to, is organization and communication. I believe these two key elements will only help in gaining experience and working with others in real estate. Real Estate Goals: Now that I have my first home, I'm hoping to begin enjoying the benefits of home ownership. Since my home is a small 866 Sq Ft. house, I'm going to build an additional Master Bedroom to it. Increasing my footage a little over 200 Sq Ft. and add value to my property. After addition is finished, I'll be renting out or AIRBnB my front room, in order to help with my mortgage and be able to put more money into my savings each month. After two years of saving and home appreciation, I'll be looking to do a HELOC or refinance, in order to get back the money I put into the house, and with the money I've been saving, begin to purchase multifamily units. My first financial goal is to have enough doors, that generate $7K a month. Second goal is to generate $10k a month of semi-passive income. If I can keep the train moving, then the financial goal could be much more. In the future, I want to be open to other investment opportunities as they may come along. What I want to create, like most investors, is a means to be independent of employers, starting my own investment company, (corporation??) creating assets, receiving tax breaks, and having cash flow. I want myself and my future family to be able to live comfortably, not over indulgent, that's not my way, but to be able to afford nice things, and to be able to travel the world. I also want to be able to take care of my parents, and allow them to live comfortably later in life. Currently Seeking: Real Estate Investors in Colorado Springs to meet up with and spring board ideas off one another, in order to help us in our future investing goals.
