I am a military member that took the "owner-occupied" real-estate approach for the first 3 properites I purchased. These properties were turn-key and bought at close to maket value. This, of course, was before discovering BiggerPockets. I recently purchased my fourth 4-plex using better BP principles. Now, I'm trying to apply my new-found knowledge toward acquiring more 1-4 units properites, and eventually expand into commercial real estate. Real Estate Goals: 2019: Purchase 5 multifamily properties Next 2 - 3 years: purchase 15 - 20 multi-families Within 5 - 10 years: move into commercial properties, preferably medium to large apartment buildings using a 1031 exchange if possibly/reasonable Currently Seeking: Advice, leads/deals, funding “You don’t wait to buy Real Estate ....
