Married at 19, my wife and and I bought our first property at 20. Now I our mid-50's, we currently own numerous small corporations and businesses, two rent houses, two duplexes that we built (just because we hadn't done that before), and four commercial properties. The commercial properties include a 15,000' older shopping center on 2.8 acres in Austin, Texas that several developers seem to be very interested in buying and developing. We originally purchased that property for $350,000 in 1991...refinanced a few years ago for $2.62M to buy out a business partner. That property is currently worth approximately $6M. We still owe $1.2M on it. Plans are to build a $30M, class-A, 190-unit apartment-complex on that property, with 12,000' of retail space. We want to begin our property investing again as soon as we sell, or develop, the larger property. We are on this site to learn and and to help others have greater successes with real estate investments.
