Many months ago, we launched our BiggerPockets.com blogging system as a way for real estate investors, professionals, and others in the business to share their thoughts, opinions, and knowledge. Of course, as a result of that participation, the goal was to help these bloggers get noticed.

We felt that it was important to let everyone in the community know who those people were that contributed the most to the BiggerPockets blogging community, and have thus added the Top Participants this Month feature.

On the right side of the main blogs page, you'll see a box with the Top Participants this Month, which shows the five (5) most active bloggers and the five (5) most prolific commenters.

 

So What are the Perks for Being on the List?

If you're on the list (which looks back at the last 30 days, not the previous month), you'll get your name and personal avatar posted, which link back to your profile AND a link to your website will also appear in the list!

You can see that participation equals FREE PR for your profile and website link!

   Josh,

   This really is a nice feature. It lets people get some PR which provides incentive to be active and being active means more networking opportunities. It also helps me find the people who really are serious about this stuff. That saves me quite a bit of time by helping me focus my efforts.

   @Harrson Absolutely . . . it does look like things are picking up. We decided to make the top 5 from the last 30 days instead of the previous month to give people the opportunity to get themselves on the list. This way, everyone has an equal chance of getting on the Top 5 for comments or posts, even if others have been blogging/commenting on the site for a longer time.

   That is a great idea, people really need to get more involved with blogging!

   It not only helps with branding, building business, and showing knowledge, but the Google Bots LOVE IT too!!! :)

   The more I learn about how you have the site set up Josh the more I like it. With a huge, captive audience there is a lot of incentive for people to share their blogs on the site....ones that would normally be reserved for their own site. Backlinks are currency for sites. While I enjoy sharing information in general in the spirit of paying it forward there is definitely an extra incentive to post more content if it drives sales for your business.

   Do you have a RSS feature where we can syndicate content to your blog space somehow? It would be very nice to post it our our Wordpress site and have it feed automatically instead of having to post it in both places manually.

    We don't have the ability to do that right now, Bryan, but there are plans for some major renovations of all the main site features over the next months. I'll take the suggestion under consideration.

    Can we embed anchor links in our blog posts to optimize for certain keywords? If so, how?
