Chris Porto is the President & CEO of Smart Growth – a sustainable real estate development and investment firm – founded in 2014 and based in Oakland, CA. Before founding the company, Chris held positions at Deloitte in their Sustainability & Climate Change practice and at SunPower in their project finance group; where he helped raise hundreds of millions of dollars for solar energy developments.

Chris is a full and active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and sits on the small scale developer council. He earned a Professional Certificate in Real Estate Development from ULI. He is also a graduate of FortuneBuilders - a top training program and network of real estate investors across the country.

In addition to his own real estate development projects, Chris founded the Smart Growth Developer Academy with his Signature Program focused on "Building Wealth & Creating Impact with Real Estate Development" now open for enrollment.
