Hi All,
I've noticed there are many threads that are specific to certain programs. These have definitely been helpful to many. However, I was just wondering if we could get a thread going that identifies great quality programs/systems.
If you respond, please have proof and be willing to share with those who would like to know more about the program.
In addition if you've had bad experiences, please share as well and be able to provide details.

I started reading about real estate investing about 2 years ago. I looked into buying courses or going to "boot camps" if that's what their called.. but when I found Biggerpockets, I decided against all that. The most I have done in spending money for education is purchase some books and donate a littlemoney here to BP.
What you need to do is figure out what route you want to go - wholesaling, rehabing, landlording, holding notes.. etc and then go back to the first page of posts here on BP and read through them all. Ask questions and get to know the people who are doing it, NETWORK. I have met a few people from BP and they have helped me out tremendously. I am in SW FL right now and currently doing or have on the market 2 rehabs. I bought Richard Warrens book, asked a lot of questions and read everything there is here on BP on the subject... that was my education... never had any faith in gurus who seem to spend the bulk of their time marketing and pitching their sales...who knows if they are even actually practicing real estate investing.
If you are looking for a system to follow for rehabbing, JScott has a good one and it is free if you read his blog posts on 123flip. I've used his advice in my rehabs..
Look forward to the responses. I haven't prescribed to any program myself. I read a lot so that I understand the mechanics of investing, tax advantages, financing, legal issues, etc.
I look forward to getting to know investors here better so that I can ask more about their strategies and see how they play out.

I've never looked into any programs. Instead I've learned a lot here on BP and by asking questions. Honestly, I think there is enough info out there that doesn't cost you anything that I'm not convinced that you need to do a program, seminar or boot camp. A book might be worth the investment but otherwise there is so much info online that I think one could get started after spending time learning from all that available knowledge.
I purchased the Carlton Sheets program when I first started. It worked well as a motivator for me, since that was a lot of money to spend at the time. Other than that, it didn't have much information I haven't found elsewhere. Some of the information was misleading, and more hype than anything. I made a bad first purchase based on some of the information in his course.
The book Flip was a huge help, as well as these boards and another, similar real estate website (am I allowed to share?). I also learned a lot from a home inspection manual, in order to make very educated guesses on work needed and costs during a first walk-through.
