Hey Dan,
I listen to podcast's from iTunes. They're free with tons of great information. Just go to the iTunes store type in the search box in the upper right hand corner "Real Estate Investment" and a ton of great informative podcast's will show up.
I listen to about 5 or show shows that update weekly. You'll also see my podcast in there as well.

I get them in one of three ways:
1. My local library has an online checkout system where they can bring in audiobooks from around the state. It has been a great resource for me.
2. I buy them!
3. There is an online audiobook service similar to NetFlix called:booksfree.com, it is a paid service however.

Podcasts are definitely a great way to go...one of my favorites is entrepreneurial thought leaders, by Stanford business...they have some of the best and most valuable interviews you can find on iTunes.
As far as Real Estate goes I have listened to the REI Minute, and will certainly start listening to Sean's Flip2Freedom now that I see your'e a BP member :)

Audio books are very good to listen to while driving in the car. Right now, I am listening to a bit of Jeffrey Gitomer and Seth Godin (marketing and sales stuff). Podcasts are getting very popular, I may check a few out myself! :)

I would recommend the collaboration of Strategies and principles by ancient Taoist/Zen masters in 'The Way of Leadership' read by Thomas Cleary- it's an amazing audiobook on the "Timeless Strategies for Success from Zen and Taoist Masters."

I have an audible subscription. 2 books for 15 bucks a month. Although I imagine I could probably do better through the local library. I have listened to around 15 books this year, many several times because the info is that good.

I will let you know how Snowball is! Do they have an audio version of the Little Red Book?
Tod - I am also a high school football coach and avid sports fan, but I do not miss the sports talk on the way to work because I am sparking a lot of thoughts on how to improve business! Let me know what your first audio book is. I am additionally motivated to work out because I listen to audiobooks on the treadmill instead of the same MP3s on loop!

p.s. And, I just picked up another Seth Godin find today - Small is the New Big. Really enjoy his stuff!

Great to hear Dan, it's a really good read!
Small is the New Big is along the same lines of his other stuff. He really focuses on having a good idea - producing something remarkable and letting it grow. (very similar to what he says in Purple Cow). His belief is that if you are remarkable then people will find you. And, you won't have to worry so much about marketing.
His stuff is pretty interesting. I really do enjoy his books. I think I am on a mission to read and complete all of his books!

They don't send any books with audible. There are book sites like netflix that send the books.
Audible is all download, but works with itunes and many other formats. I get 2 book credits per month for around $20. Far cheaper then buying at the store. They also have an option to buy each book. Most are $5-$25. I often buy the cheaper books and use my credits for the more expensive ones.
A third option is the local library. If you talk to the right people, often times they will order the audio book you request for their collection.
