What We Have Learned About Running Webinars

So we have been busy building for a series of webinars for, "Vulture Investing With Your IRA."  I have run webinars in the past with some partners in other companies, but this round was a bit unique because we have many partners with very large lists from other business endeavors.  It has been quite challenging herding the cats to get everyone on the same page about the way things would be run.

Our fund's technology department decided to use PixelGigs to distribute the ads to our list.  We originally were going to put out a newsletter, but we decided to peel a lot of that material off and use it in snippets that go out for advertising the webinar weekly.

Branding for these types of venues is a bit tricky.  To attract the best co-sponsors you run into a problem because both parties want to use their webinar infrastructure and branding.  What we decided at the end of the day is that we will use our branding and system and invite co-sponsors on as "expert commentators."  This keeps us from having to revise slide decks each week and keeps our brand front and center.  This is often a plus for some individuals because they don't want to go through the trouble of developing slides anyway.  They just want to get their name out participate in machinery already set up.

Our first live webinar is June 7th.  I am sure we will learn a lot about our systems and how they pull.  Over time we should perfect this and develop new topics around the vulture investing theme.  I will continue to post about how things are going.  Hopefully this will help anyone else that is trying to do something similar.
