To increase your chances of receiving rent on time, you should collect rent online.

The entire rental process is moving online: rental listings, rental applications, tenant screening, leases, and maintenance management. In fact,  US News just published an article discussing this very topic:

Great article.  I haven't started in real estate yet but I have so many ideas.  I believe in online bill pay and have never had a problem with it.  I do expect for my renters to pay online as well.  When the time comes I will look at your software.

    Thanks again, Bill.

    1. Hi William, I'm so glad you found the article helpful!

  2. Perfect! Thanks for your article.

    1. You're welcome, Randy! I'm glad you found it valuable.

  3. Great route to go. The problem I have is getting tenants to actually pay this route.

    1. Hi Jerry, you bring up a good point. It's best to include in your lease how you expect rent to be paid. It's something you should go over before you both sign, so your tenants know they are agreeing to pay online. Most tenants are happy to pay online because it's much more convenient. And if you're paying online with Rentalutions, we send them an email to help them get set up so everything is easy and quick. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.

  4. I use Cozy, it's free and works great!

  5. I use PAYPAL, its immediate , free & most tenants have a paypal account. Its easy to setup, track, & you can get your own "PAYPALME" link you can share to anyone & send & recieve money. Its free when attached to their checking account or debit card, & costs under 3% for a credit card user. Tenants sharing rent can each pay seperatly. Its uncomplicated, easy to use, & it works for me!

    1. Hi Schelley, I'm glad you found a solution that works for you. If you're interested in having features like rent reminder emails, automatic late fees, automatic payments, and receipts, then you should consider using Rentalutions to collect rent. It's just as safe, easy to use, and doesn't charge tenants for payments made from their checking accounts. If you have any questions, let me know- I'm happy to help.

  6. Awesome~!  Thanks again.

    Josh

  7. Hello,

Great article.  I've been wanting to move in this direction for a while now.  Can you give us more information pertaining to the soft ware that performs this type of online billing?

    Thanks,

    Josh
