About us
I entered the mortgage industry in 2005 with First Ohio Home Finance. Throughout my tenure with the company I played a key role in developing our operations and underwriting policy and practices. In late 2017 I left my role as Operations Director to open a new sales branch in the Short North of Columbus, Oh. Since then we've developed the Wharton Lending Team with a focus on investor transactions covering acquisition to cash out to delayed financing.

Theresa Parkhill was great. I had a positive experience with this financing company. I closed on my house in late April 2025. I still have support from First Ohio Home Financing if any questions. I am a first time buyer and this language is new to me and they are there to help

This is the second loan I’ve closed with First Ohio Home Finance, and both experiences have been outstanding!
Chris Wharton is professional, responsive, and truly goes the extra mile to get the best deal possible. He beat a competitor’s offer, covered the cost of a rush appraisal, and made the process quick and seamless. Communication was always clear and timely.
I highly recommend Chris and his team—they’ve earned my trust and future business!

Chris, Lucita, and Nicole were amazing to work with! They are genuinely kind and helpful people and made what could have been a very stressful experience (purchasing our first investment property) into a fun, educational, and stress-free process. We even closed more than a week ahead of schedule. I would highly recommend them and will definitely use them again in the future!

Troy Farrell at First Ohio Home Finance made buying our first home truly amazing. Throughout the entirety, there was open communication to us for whatever we might have asked. Everything was smooth sailing and we quickly closed on time. I would highly recommend First Ohio Home Finance for any housing needs! But honestly, Troy really made the difference for us. He was so professional and so caring about anything we discussed. I wish there could be a higher rating!
