Hello everybody,
I just finished my RE education (168 hours in Colorado) last week and this week I passed my real estate exam and i am looking to interview some brokerage firms to work for.
I wold appreciate any suggestions for a good Brokerage Firm for a new broker in North Denver/Boulder area.
Not knowing what i am getting into i believe the most important thing for me is having a good mentor. Secondly education offered, but i believe good mentor can eliminate some of the need for education. correct me if you think I am wrong.
I would prefer low or no monthly fees, but I am not too concern about commission splits as long as it’s fair.
it's pretty important for me that I would be allowed to do deals for myself or for any partnership/LLC that i am part of without paying commission to my brokerage.
My initial plan is to start out as a full time broker.
I have heard about Keller Williams and Coldwell Banker, but should i consider anybody else?

@Peter Sejna congrats on passing the exam! I am with KW and couldn't be happier. They have a very good training program for new agents. The commission split is 70/30 until hit the cap (usually 25k) then you get 100% of your commissions. Monthly fees depend on the location, but are usually very low or none existent. You also have a coach/mentor who works with you one on one.

Thank you Eric for taking your time to post here. I've heard a lot of good things about KW and plan to set up interview hopefully next week with 2 closest KW offices. I want to do the same thing with Coldwell Banker (2 closest office), but after that I am not sure if there are any good choices.
Eric have you been with KW from the very beginning? How long has it been.
would also be great to hear from someone with experience near me.

Hi Peter, Kw is awesome for training and mwntorship. I work out of the KW office in Westminster and love it. The culture there is unbeatable. They have many training options to satisfy your needs ans your schedule. Let me know if you want and I can introduce you to the manager of the Westminster office.

Thank you Kevin, Westminster office (i believe it says Broomfield on KW.com) is one of the two i plan to interview. I asked for interview through kw.com careers/contact us form few days ago, but have not heard back. I would appreciate if you would introduce me to your manager and hopefully set up interview for this coming week.

Thank you Dan, can you please send me some information how your office works. Also maybe Kevin can shed some light on KW charges. I was in believe that KW has low set monthly fees and covers their education and mentorship through commission splits. as i said before commissions splits don't bother me as much, but what i want avoid is to pay set monthly fees before i make any deals. obviously a big thing is, am i gonna get charged if I buy or sell real estate for my own use. thank you again
