Hi , I am a Realtor in NJ, and I am thinking to get my course/Certification for Home Inspection.
is it a good combination?
also I see Home inspection course is around $5k, so just wondering if somebody knows if I have some cheaper alternate?
I can learn by myself by watching youtubes videos and reading books, and can work undersome experience Inspector for some time for practical experience(40 hours are mandatory), but not sure if that is an option for me, or theory classes(140 hours) is also mandatory to take under some institution.
I think that could be a great benefit for you. But for $5k I’m not sure. Here in California, you need to pass an online program and you get a certificate. I think the program costs just under $350...so perhaps there are different state rules and laws to getting certified. I would take a look online and see what website company offers the best pricing...but it can’t hurt to be certified as home inspector.
