Desperate Need For Licensed Contractor/Gc!!!

Good day, from new york ;). I purchased a foreclosed 2 flat in the northern austin area 8/2023...it's now 6 months later and i am having a horrendous time finding legit, reliable and competent contractors. I have of course lost money and time running through contractors who have no time management skills, overwhelmed with other projects and or are just incompetence's ( installing wrong sized toilet and unable to close bathroom door), ( sloppy placement of drywall, botched paint jobs. I am looking a licensed GC, PLUMBER and Electrician who can service the Chicago area. ALL referrals help !! I am an out of state investor , trying to create a go to team. Thank you ; )

    Is your Scope Of Work super clear? Meaning every single thing is written down?

    And your Contract is solid and enforceable with appropriate penalties?

    Very detailed literally word by word however the quality of work is poor

    Hey @Jillian S Young - Great day from Chicago!  Glad to hear you have a positive outlook on the project.  WHEN you finish and get through this one there are many more positive projects on your horizon.  

    SUPER SORRY to hear about your troubles!  You are not alone...there are so bad general contractors out there.  We are by NO means perfect, but we prioritize communication and expectations.

    @Jillian S Young connect with @jonathan Klemm and if he cant help you I am sure he will point you in the right direction to help you get out of this jam.  Once you get past the contracting part, the leasing to find the right tenants will be your next opportunity to take a misstep so make sure you hire the right leasing team for that.
