Hi Everyone,
I just got my first rehab home under contract and got a quote from a general contractor. I feel like it is a bit high and am definitely going to shop him, but any advice and counsel I can receive from dealing with General Contractors on how to save the most money/get the best deal would be great. Thanks!

Get 3 or 5 bids for a written scope of work from several contractors. Get references and call them. Ask to see other jobs the GC has worked on or is currently working on. Pick the one that looks like the best price/cost/value proposition.
