Property Management Oak Park/Austin BLVD

I am an investor in Milwaukee, WI and am looking to purchase a property in the Austin neighborhood on the far west side of Chicago. The property borders the Oak Park suburb and is between 10-20 units. I am interested in any property manager recommendations for that specific area. I manage my own properties in Milwaukee, so I have a good base of what PM entails and would like someone to have similar concepts and ideals.

    Hey Mike, 

    Welcome to the Chicago investors club! I invest in Chicago and have been running a property management business here for 7 years. Do you have a specific property in mind and are you looking to do Section 8? Austin is one of the highest-crime neighborhoods in Chicago. You can get good returns there using Section 8, but management needs to be tailored to the area and the strategy works better at scale. I work with a few great developers on the South Side in areas that have great returns but also higher-quality tenants where a non-Section 8 approach works great. There are a lot of great buildings comping up in East & West Pilsen, Bridgeport, Humboldt Park, Bronzeville, all the way down to Woodlawn by the new Presidential Library. We'd be happy to show you some off-market options and I'd be happy to discuss management with you.
