Creative idea, especially with your construction background. I’d just make sure the agreement clearly lays out the value of the labor, who covers materials, the rehab scope, timeline, permits, insurance, and exactly how the rent credit is calculated so both sides are protected.
Another thing that could help is having access to separate business capital for materials, carrying costs, or unexpected rehab expenses so the project doesn’t get stalled if more cash is needed than expected.
