I just secured my first house hack! I am currently in the process of deciding what property management software to use. As of right now i am deciding whether or not to use RentRedi but I noticed that RentPrep has a more thorough tenant screening process. I am wondering if anyone would be able to guide me on the best software to use and or if there are any others out there.
Ideally I want the best property management application to streamline the process of being a landlord but also want a in depth tenant screening. For my for rental property/house hack i want to make sure that I do everything right. Thank you!
Have you read the "Ultimate Guide To Tenant Screening and Renting Your House" thread? It's the very first thread in the General Landlording forum and probably has a lot of useful information.

Bigger Pockets actually offers tenant screening through one of their partners. They have two options depending on what you are looking for; a tenant involvement and a no tenant involvement package. There are also very useful add-ons available like income verification. You can find further information by going to Tenant Screening under the Tools tab.
@Austin Haynes, congrats on that first house hack! **insert party siren sound**
Lots of options for you to choose with property management software. I'm happy to help answer any specific questions you have, I've done quite a bit of market research on them. For the most part, the vast majority of software solutions offer the same values and services but I always like to ask:
What's the most important feature to you?
What's your monthly budget? Some are monthly memberships, per unit, per transaction.
How many units do you intend to have within the next 1-2 years? I'd stick more towards the Landlord software size than professional management software.
As for tenant screening, it's important you come up with your own standards and processes. Screening reports can be an important part of the process but they're not the only requirement. I've met successful landlords that never pull reports. And there have been terrible tenants with great reports. Think of reports as one part of your entire screening process.
Not sure you need to get all fancy with a house hack, but I use these tools (which I am NOT affiliated with in any way)
WWW.myrental.com i like the above as it will give you all the needed background screening info and you can have the applicant pay them directly (39.99 i think)
