Door between main home and basement apartment
3 bed/2 bath home with a walkout basement that could easily be converted into a separate 1 bed/1bath unit with kitchenette. There is a separate outside door for the walkout basement...my question is: what would you do with the existing door at the top of the stairs between the main level of the house and the walkout basement? Do you add locks to both sides? Close it up?
