Warning about Rent Now QC LLC, Davenport IA

I'm sadly doing my community service and relating my very bad experiences with Rent Now QC in the Davenport Iowa.

The short version of the story is they are either grossly incompetent or straight out fraudulent.  Avoid them.  The longer version follows.

I have a turnkey rental property in Davenport IA that I bought through Easy Street Property Management (ESPM).  ESPM was not the best property management firm I've ever worked with.  They were slow, but competent.  It would seem that ESPM went out of business around April of 2025, and somehow my management was transferred to Rent Now QC (RNQC).  I say somehow because I never really got any notifications about a transfer.  I just stopped getting ESPM messages and started getting Rent Now QC messages.

RNQC appears to be a real company.  They have a web page, property management software, etc.  I know there are people there as I've exchanged several emails with them.  We've even handled debris violation notices from the city successfully.  But they have NEVER forwarded any rent monies to me.  Their monthly statements and property management software indicate that the renter is indeed paying rent.  Strangely I have never received a response to any inquiries I make about the money.

I eventually had to fire them.  I almost certainly waited too long (8 months), but I had gotten a bit used to ESPM's slowness so the severity of the problem kind of snuck up on me.  They got me for a bit over $9,000.  And the cash hemorrhaging isn't over yet.  The new property manager inspected the property and immediately evicted the tenant and let me know I've got some hefty repair bills headed my way.  For all I know, my tenant was a squatter and wasn't actually paying the rent and all of RNQC's monthly statements were just lies.

Like I said, avoid RNQC.  Don't do business with them.  Hopefully this review helps some future investor.

You may want to report them to the real estate board of Iowa and the attorney general office.
