Adding a French door or sliding door to make a bedroom?

Seeking advices:

This is a picture of a living room connecting to a family room. We plan on converting the livingroom into a bedroom by putting in either a french or a sliding door. Then we'll put up a blind or curtain for privacy. Any thoughts/advices?
