How to reduce gas bill of a 6plex?

I have a 6plex in Chicago. The gas bill is 500 a month. I'd like to cut it down. Anyone can help to share some advices? Much appreciated!

Thats less than $ 100 a unit . AND Chicago is cold . I am in Maryland and just my house is $ 200 a month .

Better insulation in the attic.
Better windows
More efficient furnace.
Check and repair door seals.
Check and repair any air leaks you find. You can find a local person to come down and do an inspection of such items. Many times it can be done by the local utility.

Saving money costs money, if you have room to raise the rents that's the best solution.
