Hello,
I am a new landlord, leasing parents' home. Good potential tenant wants to move in own washer/dryer and refrigerator. What should we charge tenant for cost of removing our workable but older appliances?
Hi, I had the same thing happen where a tennat wanted to use their ref/stove. I called Two men and a Truck, a small local moving company, the took the old ones out moved them to my storage are and unloaded them, I never touched them. They paid to have it done! And, they paid an amount equal to that in addition to the security deposit to have it moved back in. This was a tri-plex and theree was no storage area sufficient for the stuff, so that's what we did.
If it had been a home, and the home had space in the garage, I might consider storing it out there and cover it up/wrap it up. A refrigerator needs to have the door open and fixed so that it can not close, better yet, take the door off if you store it with the tenant (or where ever). Kids can get inside and they could sufficate! Bill
