@Ramiro Rodriguez I protest property taxes on my primary residence and all my rentals every year here in Texas. Even if there isn't an increase in my property taxes. I do this in an effort to ensure I am doing everything to reduce my overall costs to my company. More money to acquire more rentals. I use to protest them myself. But now have a third party company protest them for me. If they don't get a reduction they don't get paid. So well worth my time to make this investment.

@Ramiro Rodriguez there is really only one reason to protest, which is to lower your tax assessed value, which lowers your taxes. You can protest if you want, but your success depends on proving the valuation is incorrect. In my area it was common to protest a few years back after the housing crash, because values were higher than sales prices in some cases. Today with the massive appreciation some markets are experiencing, you may struggle to prove your tax value is wrong. That being said, ever city/county is different so give it a try and see what happens.
