“Good Cause is a major win for the people of Hudson who are being forced out—through no fault of their own—by landlords chasing greater profits.”

Just another incremental loss of individual freedom and property rights.

Gov't officials basically caused the housing shortage and now want to punish the homeowner/investor. Hudson has come a long way in the last 20 years. They (locals and politicians) wanted the city "cleaned up" and to be more prosperous. So investors, many from out of town, invested millions and millions into the city in order for this to happen...in return, the city ups the taxes on the newly assessed buildings that were just redone. This FORCES rents to be higher in order to break even/make a return. What's the city do? Raises taxes yet again. Most homeowners realized more money can be made in STR and switched over to that in order to afford the ever rising taxes. Add onto that the eviction moratorium and they really discourage people from wanting to rent to anyone long term.
