@Marco Santarelli what is your best placement in WPT or World Series tournaments thus far?i love Holdem and have been meaning to play in the WSP for the last few years. Every time if get busy and can't go.
The WPT event in L.A. (Legends of Poker at the Commerce) is a great event. I'm not one to tell bad beat stories (and I'm not going to start now :), but I took the worst beat of my life in the 2005 main event there. With 41 players left, I had the second biggest stack and got all in with the biggest stack...he hit a 3 outer on the river to knock me out. Would have easily made the final table with the stack I would have had.
Haven't been back since I had kids, but hopefully soon!
ouch! I have taken some bad beats even worse than that, but never at that level. I have had runner runner beats and in two tournaments in a row, I had a player hit a two outer on me! Damn those poker gods sometimes.
J Scott: Ouch is right! It hurts to go that deep, only to get knocked out with a 3 outer on the river (only about 6% odds)!
I just played the Bellagio Deepstack Extravaganza a few weeks ago. Finished 27th when I got beat in heads-up action with top pair, top kicker, against the little blind who flopped a set and slow-played it to the river acting like he was weak. Grrrr!!
@Will Barnard : I really love poker too. Great game. I've been playing the WSOP every year since 2007. My worst bad beat was flopping a set of Aces, going heads up against a very young aggressive player half-way into the tourney, and watching him draw out TWO running cards to a straight with junk in his hand! I couldn't believe it. Grrrr again!!
The best I ever finished in an event was 14th back in 2008/09.
