As comptroller, Ms. Mendoza ended the State of Illinois $16.7 billion backlog of bills, grew the state's Rainy-Day fund to $2.4 billion, and oversaw 10 credit upgrades for Illinois. As mayor, she states her priorities will be to Stabilize the City's Finances, Grow the Tax Base, and end the Public Safety Crisis. All of this is a welcome change from the current administration.
