The attorney I worked with in the past was horrible. I'm looking to invest in the area and hope to find an attorney that's familiar with the Jersey City area.

how so ... why even use an attorney for vanilla real estate deals this is not rocket science attorneies are not needed if you need one means you don't now enough about the bizz and your are not a RE professional your just whinning

That is just an idiotic post, I'm sorry. The arrogance absolutely baffles me. You are being nasty to her because she wants to use a lawyer to make sure she doesn't make mistakes, which, by the way, you have admitted to making in other threads. You can know everything there is to know about real estate, but not about the law or protecting your assets, especially because every deal can be unique. I have billion dollar companies as clients that probably know a little bit more and have more experience than you, even that have in house counsel and still choose to use a lawyer for investment properties, and I also know people who choose not to-some successully, others unsuccessfully. It's ok to give her your opinion, but not like that.
Lila, don't let anyone discourage you from at least consulting with an attorney before you make a decision. Read through some of the threads about the absolute horrors when people try to DIY. You could be totally fine 9/10 times, and the 10th time, lose a lot of money and end up tied up in litigation with your other assets on the line. For a thousand or so dollars a deal, there is just no sense in taking that risk. Doesn't mean you don't know what you are doing, or don't know about real estate, or that you are whining. Please disregard that nonsense, don't take offense, and do whatever you feel most comfortable with.
