I have a single family rental property in Charlotte that was just turned over after 6 years of rental and am doing a little rehab, mainly paint and flooring. After reading much of forum posts it seems like luxury vinyl plank is the preferred choice. I need about 1,600 SF. I'm trying to choose between Allure Ultra from HD and TRQ XD 4mm click from Lumber Liquidators. Both come with long warranties but LL is short on specs such as wear layer thickness. Need to buy soon. Any other preferred local LVT flooring source? Please share your thoughts.
Have you checked out Carolina Wood Flooring on Clanton Rd. Wholesale prices. That's where a lot installers buy flooring from. Surplus warehouse on Independence also has some planks with good prices. Floor and Decor opp the Concord Mall has a very broad selection as well.
We buy our plank from Rite Rug, Diamond Flooring and Sherwin Williams. We like the service of Diamond the best of the bunch and their pricing is really close to Rite Rug. We put in about 20,000 sf of carpet and plank each month, so we have tested the limits of all of these and Diamond has been the best. We use both Shaw and Mohawk and we like the Mohawk products a bit more. The vinyl plank is the way to go for a rental generally unless it is higher end.
