Making a deposit on apartment

I got approved for an apartment, but they want a deposit before I’m able to view the lease? Should I decline or move forward.

@Precious Thompson - is this an apartment that you would rent? Or a deposit for an apartment complex you are acquiring?

I would offer to meet them to give them the deposit and review the lease at the same time if I wanted to live there
